COVID-19 POLICIES & PROCEDURES
UPDATED ON 08/31/22
Dancers will still have a temperature check and hand sanitizer upon arrival at the studio. If you would prefer your dancer remains masked in the studio, you are encouraged and welcome to do so. Please continue to follow our quarantine rules as outlined on the COVID-19 Policies & Procedures website page.
Further information can be found on the CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/community-levels.html
What can my dancer expect when coming back to classes?
1. Masks are recommended and encouraged, but are no longer required at Activ8 Dance Company.
2. We are still keeping our class capacity low to allow for optimal social distancing, sanitizing and cleaning the studio daily, as well as taking temperature checks for all students as they arrive.
3. Please continue to alert us if a student or someone in the student's household is experiencing any symptoms and/or signs of illness or test positive so that we can do relevant contact tracing within our community. Please see the updated QUARANTINE PROCEDURE and RESPONSE TO A POSITIVE COVID-19 TEST information below.
We will continue to update you on any changing protocol in our studio.

QUARANTINE PROCEDURE and RESPONSE TO A POSITIVE COVID-19 TEST:

Any class missed due to a change in schedule or a medical situation can be made up by attending a different class, preferably in the same or a similar style and age group. Dancers who are ill but can still participate virtually can also set up a Zoom class to be taken at home during their regular class time. Email [email protected] to set up a make-up class or Zoom class. If Suburban Cook County must move to Phases 1, 2, 3, or 4 of the Restore Illinois plan at any point during the season, all classes will be offered virtually and no refunds will be given.
- Masks are recommended and encouraged for everyone in the common areas (entrances, waiting areas, hallways, bathrooms, and dressing rooms) regardless of age, but are not required.
- Activ8's mask-wearing policy will be updated according to the CDC, CCDPH and IDPH guidance throughout the 2021-2022 year.
SOCIAL DISTANCING & CLASS SIZES
- Social distancing is required in classes and in the waiting areas.
- Studio 1 can accommodate up to 18 dancers while maintaining a minimum distance of six feet apart. Studio 2 can accommodate up to 8 dancers.
STUDENT LOUNGE & LOBBY
- Dancers will leave their belongings in the lobby or the student lounge during class. Please turn off or silence cell phones brought to the studio during class.
- Outdoor shoes should be left in the lobby cubbies or taken off in the lobby to carry to the student lounge in the back of the studio. Hip-Hop dancers: please be sure to bring a separate pair of clean, light-sole, indoor-use only sneakers to change into for your hip hop class.
- Waiting areas are open for dancers waiting between classes and ONLY (1) one family member can wait in the lobby for students to alleviate crowding. Please continue to maintain social distancing.
- No water fountains available. Water bottles are available for purchase at the front desk for $1.00 if needed.
SANITIZATION AND HAND-WASHING
- Frequent hand-washing or sanitizing is strongly encouraged. Hand sanitizer is available in the lobby and in each studio.
